MILLVILLE – Governor Christie and his Administration today announced an initiative to strengthen community policing throughout New Jersey. State police troopers will be sporting new gear soon, in the form of body cameras. $1.5 million in state funding will go towards buying the cameras for state police, making New Jersey one of the first states to implement the technology. An additional $2.5 million in forfeiture funds will also be used to purchase the cameras for local law enforcement agencies.
