Stephanie Chasi Asqui is the Communications and Digital Media Associate at the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice.
Born in Quito, Ecuador and raised in North Jersey, Stephanie is passionate about empowering marginalized communities through visual storytelling and ensuring their voices are heard, respected, and celebrated.
Stephanie has a background in bilingual multicultural communications, social media video production, and event planning. She began her career working at public relations agencies in NYC, where she executed multicultural campaigns, produced multi-city media events, and developed strategies to amplify on social media.
After six years in the industry, Stephanie followed a personal dream of living abroad and moved to Valencia, Spain for a year, where she was a High School English Conversation Teacher. Living in Spain inspired her to begin short-form video production, where she uses her social platform to educate and inspire audiences to explore the world, whether that’s locally in New Jersey or across the globe.
Overall, Stephanie is excited to use her creative storytelling and video skills to highlight New Jerseyans’ stories that will educate, inspire, and drive action towards systemic change. In her free time, she volunteers for the Consulate of Ecuador in Manhattan, assisting with passport renewals and organizing community events. Stephanie earned her B.A. degree in Public Relations and Sociology from Penn State University.
