Naa’san S.J. Carr is a Community Organizer at the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice.
Born and raised in South Jersey, Naa’san advocates for justice, equity and empowerment for all. Naa’san serves on the Evergreen Baptist Church Board of Trustees, as well as serving as 1st Vice President of the NAACP New Jersey State Conference Youth & College Division, and as College Program Coordinator for Trenton Christian Fashion Week.
A proud first-generation college graduate, Naa’san earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Rider University, where he made history as the university’s first Black Student Government Association President.
Committed to advancing civil and human rights—particularly in education equity, voting rights, and criminal justice reform—Naa’san has organized and led initiatives such as the National Pan-Hellenic Council of Central Jersey’s D9 Day in Trenton; Young Leaders Summit; philanthropic efforts for the Prison Fellowship’s Angel Tree Program; and a youth-led workshop series presented at the 116th NAACP National Convention.
His service has been recognized through numerous awards, including: the Rider University President’s Inclusive Excellence Award; Cassie D. Iacovelli Student Government Award; Center for Diversity and Inclusion Multicultural Medallion; NAACP Trenton Branch Freedom Fund Award and a Watch The Yard Leadership Highlight.
As a dynamic public speaker, activist and ally, Naa’san is dedicated to uplifting underrepresented and marginalized communities through civic engagement, education and leadership. Rooted in his Christian faith, Naa’san aspires to serve his country at the highest level—as President of the United States.
