N.J. reparations report has 93 ways to address centuries of racial injustice

Two years ago, on Juneteenth, the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice (NJISJ) announced that it would convene a group of thought leaders to conduct research and make the case for reparations in New Jersey.

The Council examined the state’s history and its connection to today’s racial landscape, ultimately producing 93 recommendations outlined in its report, “For Such a Time as This: The Nowness of Reparations for Black People in New Jersey,” released on Thursday, June 19, also known as Juneteenth.
