While New Jersey has made important strides to expand voting access in recent years – by implementing automatic voter registration, allowing voters to register online, and expanding early voting – our leaders can and should do more to protect and expand voting rights. This legislative session, voting rights groups like Stand Up America, League of Women Voters of New Jersey, ACLU of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Institute for Social Justice are calling on the state’s Democratic trifecta to pass the New Jersey Voting Rights Act and Same-Day Voter Registration to strengthen ballot access.
