Alongside our supporters and partners, the Institute has consistently effected meaningful and transformative change in New Jersey.

What We’ve Accomplished

We lowered the voting age to 16 in Newark, NJ for school board elections.

We released the first-of-its-kind New Jersey Reparations report that reveals the history of slavery and its aftermath in New Jersey and proposes a blueprint for repair.

We championed an Executive Order that restored jury service for more than 350,000 people previously denied it due to criminal convictions.
